Manitoba Blue Cross offers supplementary Health & Dental Plans for people who are only covered under the provincial health care system. These plans are designed for anyone who is self employed or employed with a company who does not provide group benefits. Plans are also available for young adults just coming off a parent's plan and not yet eligible for an employer plan, individuals between career choices and retirees without group benefits.

Blue Cross Travel Health is available for those short trips away from home. Health costs vary from province to province, not everything is covered under the basic Provincial Plan and in the United States hospitals charge for everything. Coverage can be bought for individual trips, or for anyone taking several short trips a year, an annual policy may work out cheaper. All residents of Manitoba who are registered with and entitled to benefits from Manitoba Health are eligible. Coverage must be purchased prior to departure and for the entire duration of the trip.
